Irvine Finch River

East of Orland on the Sacramento River, you will find Irvine Finch River Access Park. This is the only facility in Northern California specially designed to provide recreation areas for "tubers", and rafters.

 

Recreation uses available at the Irvine Finch River Access include boat, kayak, canoe and inner tube launching, camping, picnicking, and fishing.

Black Butte Lake is located just 8 miles West of Orland and provides the following activities:

Visit the Clear Creek Sports Club a 1,400 acre ranch at Rolling Hills Casino Corning, California on land owned by the Nomlaki Indian Tribe. This is a wildlife oasis for upland game birds, waterfowl, turkey, and dove. There is fishing also available on the ranch in the 65 acre lake for Trophy Trout. Sacramento Wildlife Refuge

It is located about 70 miles north of the metropolitan area of Sacramento and 7 miles south of the town of Willows in Glenn and Colusa Counties. The refuge consists of 10,819 acres primarily of wetlands, with some grasslands and riparian habitats.

 

The refuge is open daily from one-hour before sunrise to one-hour after sunset. Numerous recreational opportunities are available including the popular six-mile auto tour and two walking trails (Sacramento Wildlife Brochure), which meander along marshes and riparian areas.
